I recently bought an ASUS RoG Maximus XIII Hero motherboard with a Gen 10 processor and an i9-10900k. The first NVMe slot is turned off because it doesn’t support Gen 11. I’m curious about moving the NVMe drive to the M2_3 slot—would that affect performance? According to the specs, the first slot will be disabled and the second will run at x8 for graphics. Also, I’m wondering if routing through the chipset would noticeably speed up game loading times compared to using the processor lanes. If anyone has advice, it would be really helpful. I’ve built the BIOS myself, just need guidance on swapping the Corsair MP400 8TB NVMe 3.0 to possibly M2_3. Thanks a lot for your help—I’m not very experienced with this.
