I observed that my 2018 15 inch MacBook Pro was constantly using excessive resources while handling tasks that shouldn’t demand much power, and the device felt excessively hot with fans spinning nonstop. After trying all standard solutions, I took out the bottom plate and removed the logiv board to reveal the fans. I found that one fan connector was damaged, and the fna wasn’t functioning properly. When I tried to replace it, soldering didn’t work—connections wouldn’t release and stuck. The metal prongs on the connector were very narrow, suggesting the socket might be missing one or more prongs that need soldering. I’m unsure if a special adhesive would work instead of solder, especially since I’m just starting out. I have photos to clarify the problem. If you examine the socket without the fan plug in, you’ll see some prongs are absent. Could it be possible to replace them? Also, what material should I use for this repair? Thank you ahead for your guidance!
