And then I’d just send them off to the city recycling center, making sure no one else came after them.
They’re worthless trash—cheap for a reason.
For the record
I successfully repaired a few CPU cables. I acquired an original Chieftec cable for a day and verified the connections using a multimeter. I also obtained some Corsair cables and a pin removal tool from Aliexpress. The re-pinning process was straightforward.
One PSU has been operating in a very power-demanding retro setup for over three years without any issues, running quietly (FX5950 + RX590 Crossfire). Another is experiencing some sluggishness in a newer Ryzen system. I also have a third one, which will be coming soon. These PSUs appear to offer good value...
