My brother's ASUS Vivobook M712DA has a damaged screen. I replaced it online but the new panel isn't recognized. The original model had a BOE NV173FHM-N49, now the NV173FHM-N4L is installed. It works with an external monitor, though the old one doesn't function. After updating BIOS and resetting drivers, nothing changed. Comparing displays on the site shows the new N4L is brighter and needs more power (up to 8.4W vs 5.35W). I'm unsure if this affects compatibility with his laptop.
You purchased the incorrect part number, which means it doesn’t fit. Laptops use specialized components, not universal designs. There’s no need for another display to work with different specs.
It wasn't an obvious choice, just meant for the correct laptop https://www.laptop-lcd-screen.co.uk/shop...482310.asp
