I possess an MSI A320M-A Pro with two RAM slots and a 1x8GB 2400MHz chip. I need a 16GB upgrade but worry about performance since the manual mentions a top speed limit of 2999MHz. For the best and most affordable RAM brand, look for compatible modules from reputable manufacturers like Corsair, G.Skill, or Kingston.

What processor do you have? Adding another 8 gig DIMM will let your PC operate at the minimum speed of both units. (For example, pairing a 2666 with a 2400 keeps them both at 2400.) For ease, opt for a second 8 gig 2400 DIMM from a trusted manufacturer like Micron. https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Single-PC...B01BIWK9OK

RAM performance mainly relies on the CPU because the memory controllers are located in the I/O die or uncore of the processor. The 3350g model seems best suited for 2666MHz or lower due to its older design and potential resistance to higher speeds. While technically any RAM can be adjusted to a slower rate, tighter timings usually work well. The UEFI will default to the lowest setting, so opting for models with a higher speed should still be acceptable.
