You have a Ryzen 7 3700X that’s no longer working. You’ve ruled out returning it and already have a replacement. It seems the issue was with the CPU, which you confirmed after testing other parts in a separate build. At the moment, your options are limited—right now you’re mainly focused on learning how to remove and solder pins.

Display it on the wall as a paperweight. A cozy heated pad keeps your hot beverages warm—check out the video for inspiration. :3

You confirm it's dead by inspecting the motherboard.

I ran another build with the same CPU and found the same issue; the previous failed too. I suspected the motherboard might have been faulty, so I replaced it and upgraded the power supply. I realized I had cut corners on those components before, which was a valuable lesson.

These concepts are solid, and adding it as an accessory could really enhance the idea. Any other fresh suggestions you have?

Such rare case. I suppose the cpu was bad from the factory. Don't you suppose to return it? How do they know that's really broken and you're not bullshitting.

Instead of reaching out to AMD, consider getting a replacement sent directly or opting for a refund. Intel already repaid your purchase for the i7-6800K at its original MSRP after three years.

I've already reviewed the steps required and attempted the process, but I haven't had success. I'm not worried about a refund or anything similar in this situation. It's unclear what went wrong. I noticed the SATA connector on the HDD was loose, and when I removed it to check for failures, it broke completely. That might have caused an issue. Later, I discovered the surge protector wasn't working properly (due to frequent brownouts) and, given the cheap PSU, it could have damaged it.
