OS: Windows 11
Steps: I'm using an Asus rog gl752vw with a new battery installed after replacing old cells. The laptop stays at 33% and doesn't charge properly, but it shows charging. When unplugged, it shuts off completely, suggesting no battery. In Aid64, the battery capacity is marked as unknown. I expected the new cells to restore normal function. I'm wondering if this was the intended outcome or if something went wrong. Would you have tried a similar replacement and shared any relevant pages? If so, here are some screenshots of the issue. Any other details you'd like me to know?

I haven't viewed that video yet. But based on your description, you replaced an old laptop battery with a new one that fits without removal, and it functioned perfectly across several devices.

Sure, I understand. With just four battery cells, I considered a laptop battery from my model for sale. I noticed the violet ones available, which offer higher capacity while maintaining the same voltage, and decided to purchase them.

It seems the issue might relate to the battery's BMS or Battery Management System. Laptop batteries operate with intricate controls for measuring and delivering power, so replacing the cells could disrupt the system's expectations of normal capacity. I don't know the exact BMS type in your model—it might be more advanced—and it’s likely you’ll need to reset it to restore proper function. You can follow the steps shown in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7Llii69YYM

Here’s my battery pack with the BMS chip number (BQ30Z55) listed. The photo shows its appearance. Sorry, I didn’t have time to share it again lately, but I’ll try posting once I figure out how to reset it.
