I recently needed to swap out my x99 motherboard because of a USB overcurrent problem that stopped me from booting. The new board works fine and includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It has connectors on the back for an antenna, but when I bought one, it was too big for the ones on a typical router. I didn’t realize the connectors were smaller than those found on a standard router. I looked up details about the connectors on my board, but nothing clear came up. Anyone know the exact type of connectors used here? Motherboard - Asus x99-Deluxe II Antenna I bought didn’t fit.

They need rpSMA style connectors. Like this example: https://www.amazon.com/HUACAM-HCM16-Omni...lp_pl_dp_3 This would be helpful to confirm. The link you shared also says the antenna is rpSMA, so it should work. Maybe the motherboard ports are just positioned too close? I doubt that. From what I understand, these connectors are widely used for wireless antennas on all boards.

Searching for your motherboard reveals you don’t own rpSMA. That seems unexpected, but it’s interesting. I recently discovered the antenna included with your board on Ebay for a high price: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ASUS-3T3R-DU...2153574378

Thanks a lot for the recommendation! I usually rely on Ethernet for my internet connection, but I was curious about Bluetooth options. At that cost, I’d prefer to just purchase a compact USB adapter instead.

Used it for more than a year before installing a new device with built-in Bluetooth. It functioned mostly well. Occasionally I needed to disconnect it to refresh it, but generally it performed as expected. The task was completed successfully and it cost less than $10.
