Near the street of a family member’s home I have a free Wi-Fi that I can join by entering a login name and password on a website. This lets me get online. How can I link to this network and set up another one to boost its coverage so internet works inside the house? Can a basic WiFi booster help with that?

You're examining a "Captive Portal." I've explored configuring a Raspberry Pi to connect to a Wi-Fi network and expand its Ethernet connection. You might consider placing an Access Point there. If you need something more straightforward, let me know. I'm checking my notes and the GitHub repositories you shared for hotspot autologin and RPi WiFi setup.

Thank you! Based on what you said, it seems you might need to connect with more than one device since dual Wi-Fi cards are necessary.

Someone claims the Raspberry Pi can act as both client and server simultaneously.
