I installed a fresh PC recently and still receive an alert tone. It’s not just bothersome, but when I’m gaming it often causes the system to freeze briefly, which is really frustrating during intense multiplayer sessions. What can I do to fix this?

I'm not sure what they are. I only notice the noise, and then my computer slows down briefly.

Maybe it's the Focus Assist feature? Disabling it might make a difference.

They appear as notifications from Windows, displayed in the Notification Center at the bottom right of the task bar beside the time. Focus Assist might assist, but you should also disable alerts for individual apps. If that doesn’t work, check which programs are running with Task Manager or SysInternals Autoruns and turn them off one by one until the issue is fixed. This helps identify the culprit so you can restore others as needed.

Which motherboard is it? If it's a B550, it might be related to USB problems and the current Windows version.

I turned off Focus Assist and haven’t seen it trigger again yet, which could be the reason. It’s an X570 Aorus Master.

It had stuttering problems when TPM was active, similar to many AMD boards. AGESA 1.2.0.7 can address this and is available for your motherboard. Are you using the latest BIOS version, F4D? Check the official sites for support details:
- Gigabyte support page for X570S-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10
- TechPowerUp AMD releases for AGESA 2.1.2-0.7
- TechPowerUp article on stuttering fixes for Windows 11 and Windows 10
- Another TechPowerUp piece about performance issues and solutions

I don't have a direct way to disable TPM, but I can guide you on how to do it depending on your system and software.

On Windows 11 this feature isn't available—it's part of the OS setup. For Windows 10, restart into BIOS and adjust Advanced Mode, Settings, Miscellaneous, AMD CPU fTPM to disabled. Gigabyte can restore automatic BIOS updates. Keep in mind the results may depend on AGESA 1.2.0.7 performance; if it works, it shouldn't impact your problems.
