Repeated crashes during booting issue on Ryzen 9 5950X
Over the past month my PC has been experiencing frequent crashes and BSODs. It runs a Ryzen 9 5950x with 32 GB RAM, an RTX 3080 graphics card and a gaming RTX X570-E. I’ve owned this machine since January 2021 and only recently noticed these problems. I’ve tried all possible fixes—updating BIOS and chipset drivers to the latest versions—but nothing helped. The only workaround I found is adjusting the CPU voltage settings in the BIOS, which lowers performance but allows booting. Sometimes setting it to auto causes instability, dropping performance significantly. Occasionally it works with default voltages, though crashes still happen eventually. Eventually I’ll need to tweak BIOS settings again or risk a complete system failure. I’ve attached the Event Viewer data from one of the BSOD events, along with screenshots from BlueScreenView for reference. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Yes, that's correct. Setting the bios to defaults restores the voltage to its automatic setting.
Visit C:\Windows\Minidump and look for any minidump files. If present, return to your Windows directory and move the entire Minidump folder to the Downloads folder (use the desktop if needed). Compress the moved folder and include it in your post. Follow the steps carefully—Windows doesn’t allow changes there.
I don’t recall the RAM or PSU models; I’ll look into those later. The BIOS is currently at version 5003.
