I recently upgraded my PC with a Ryzen 5 7600x, MSI B650M-A Pro motherboard and 32GB RAM. After experiencing frequent crashes during finals games, I adjusted the RAM speed from 5600 to 4800 MHz, which resolved the issue temporarily. Playing a few games afterward was smooth. When I changed it back to 5200 MHz, the problem returned. It hasn’t happened with other games yet. I tried DRL and Fireteams Elite, but they crashed again. The issue seems persistent across different titles. No XMP profile was working. It might be due to a new BIOS update or a slight configuration mix-up. I locked my CPU at 4.7 GHz to check, but it didn’t help. Running Cinebench for an hour and Superstition for 30 minutes both completed without issues. I’m looking for guidance on fixing this without any XMP profiles. Thanks for the support!

Hardware problems with the CPU or PCIe device often cause WHEA crashes, with NVMe SSDs being the most frequent cause today. When the SSD stops responding due to the crash, it prevents writing the necessary data for a dump file. If the system freezes during the BSOD, both screens show 0%, suggesting the issue lies with the SSD itself. On a fresh build, I would first reposition the NVMe SSD. To verify whether the problem is with the SSD or another component, we have two choices: move the page file to another drive—this is where data is written before creating a dump—or add a registry setting so crash details appear directly on the BSOD screen. If the BSOD persists after a reboot, refer to the guide for changing dump types and adjust the registry accordingly. Adding a field in the registry helps display crash parameters, which can be useful if you need to see sub-errors. If the system hangs during the BSOD, check the top-left corner of the screen for extra information; this will appear after a reboot.

The absence of dump files points to NVMe as the primary concern.
