Repeated BSOD after CPU overheating
Hello,
Spec:
i7-2700k @ 4.7Ghz (PC Specialists OC'd) watercooled
GTX 980
P8Z68-V
8Gb Kingston 1600mhz
Last night during gaming (4-5 hours), my system suddenly shut down. After rebooting, the BIOS reported an overheating CPU warning. Inside the BIOS, the temperature was at 53°C. Each time I restart, the sequence repeats:
1. System starts and shuts down
2. Auto boots again with BSOD 'IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL'
3. Restarts and shows 'Repairing Windows 10'
4. Repair halts with BSOD 'ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY'
Occasionally, the message 'Detecting drives: Done; No drives found.' appears briefly before the BSOD.
I’m stuck in this cycle and can’t load Windows. The thermal paste hasn’t been changed since November 2011.
Is this a Windows error? Should I try reinstalling Windows 10 using a USB drive, or does it indicate hardware damage?
It seems like lowering the power caused significant issues with important files on Windows. You might need to perform a full installation of Windows. Unless you possess a recovery disk and are willing to invest time in executing DISM and SFC commands for extended periods.

Right now I'm trying to boot Windows 10 from USB and SD card, but it's not working well—BSOD occurs after the Windows logo appears. I'm also testing with a Windows 7 DVD, which loads the files but freezes at the Windows logo ('Starting Windows'). Additionally, I've reset the BIOS.
Alright. Sorry I couldnt help haha. Im glad you found the problem.
