Hello, I found this board on eBay for 100€ and it looks unused. There seem to be three bent pins, so it’s likely a B650 ROG STRIX WIFI. For bending the pins back, you might want to consider specific tools like a precision pin bender or a small soldering iron with careful heat control. As for any repair kits, I recommend checking out IPC Tools or other electronics repair suppliers for compatible fixes.
It's confirmed to be used. The seller misrepresented it as not being any thin metal probe. A dental pick is my top choice. Good luck!
I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard you can use the tip of an empty mechanical pencil.
I think the bent-down pin corresponds to 32:BA, a VSS pin used for grounding. The pins at 38 and 39 are essential for the memory channel B function. If you keep the board as it is and the pin doesn’t touch nearby pins, it should work, but inserting memory into slot B won’t succeed. For better results, concentrate on the other two pins and handle the single pin with extreme care. When attempting to remove it, just try to get it out if you decide to break it off. Make sure you research the pin type before proceeding.
For 100 euros you’d probably just cancel or return it. eBay should support you if the seller refuses. You can find brand new B650 boards for a similar price. It won’t be as sleek as the Strix, but most people don’t need its extra features. If the board cost only 30 euros, I’d feel differently, but at 100 euros it’s worth getting your money back.
Thanks a lot! I replayed the video and noticed the schematics for the socket pins. I plan to carefully bend those two pins and test without the first one.
