So I'm doing a disk cleanup by uninstalling some old programs that I no longer use, and I noticed Visual Studio 2010. It is the only premium software that I have on this computer (other than Windows 7 + Steam games). Anyway, I am wondering if there is a way to retrieve the product key before uninstalling so that I can use the key again if I choose to reinstall it in the future. I know that Visual Studio is not bound to hardware like Windows or Office, but the only thing I found in the program was that the program was registered to my name. At this point, it's not particularly important with the 2015 'Community Edition' which is free and has all the features of premium anyway, but I'd still like to have my 2010 key just in case. Out of curiousity, is it similar for other paid programs?

Have you explored any software for checking product keys?

Uncertain about compatibility with Visual Studio, but using ProduKey might be an option to explore.

You might want to explore KeyFinder by Magical Jelly Bean. It helps find your product keys. https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/
