Are there any good tools available to uncover hidden or difficult-to-find files left after deletions? Many people think I should handle it myself, but I’m not confident enough. Helpful suggestions are appreciated.

Programs also generate additional files. BOINC creates records related to projects you've helped with—CCleaner ignores these. CCleaner doesn’t manage leftover files.

Search manually for the files in %appdata% and %programdata%. Review the registry paths listed. If you recall an uninstall, remove those entries.
