I press the Steam shortcut and see a warning about the file being outdated. I wonder if updating Steam would fix it. Eventually, Steam stopped working on my computer and I can't locate any related files or game data. My storage space seems just as full as before, even though my hard drive appears larger. I try searching the web for clues but find nothing. After reinstalling Steam, no games appear to be installed. On Uplay the same issue occurs. Other programs function normally. My game saves and progress are missing, which is concerning given their length. Help would be really appreciated since these files contain valuable time and items.
I own two storage devices. One SSD holds my operating system and files, while the other HDD contains my games and other media. I previously arranged Steam on the SSD and my library on the HDD, but I realized the Program Files (x86) folder is missing from the HDD.
Is everything functioning as expected? The mechanical system appears to be operating correctly.
The drive is working properly. All my files, including music, movies, and photos, are stored there and I can access them without issues.
Consider reverting Windows as requested. This situation seems unusual, but it could be due to a file or folder being deleted without multiple errors. It's possible the folder was hidden.
System restore didn't help at all. I discovered the Program files (x86) folder I created, which ended up in my shadowplay recordings file. Then I opened DARKSOULSll.EXE—it launched and displayed the title screen, showing this image. It's the only game that opened properly. Any other EXE I tried kept me trying to download the game again, even though all the game files still appeared.
