I attempted to use the screw grab, but it only made things worse—it's really annoying.

You likely picked the incorrect screwdriver size—it's quite confusing to use pliers instead.

I don’t have any at home right now, so I’d need to buy some. But I’m worried it might not work and could be a waste of money.

consider getting a needle nose pliers, though I can't promise it will work. It might be the best alternative you have. I’m not sure what a screw grab does, but if it involves glue, it could cause problems—leaks might have spread and possibly stuck the screw to the bracket. I’d prefer a needle nose plier over buying a new motherboard, which is cheaper but still worth thinking about. If your screwdriver slips while you’re driving it in, it means you’re using the wrong size bit and shouldn’t keep going.

The screw grip is meant to provide resistance while drilling, but it ended up on the motherboard. I’m considering replacing it because it’s a shame. I don’t have any other options, so I might sell the one I have for 50 dollars.

Test with a smaller bit first, then use pliers to adjust the rest. Clean thoroughly—avoid using the hole for screws again. Secure everything, leaving the work area open. Hope it functions properly. Remember this when working. It should still be usable unless there’s unexpected debris.
