Remove USB drives from PCs
Remove USB drives from PCs
Hello, I've encountered this issue before as well. When playing Hogwarts Legacy, the problem tends to pop up often. My custom-built PC frequently ejects USB devices. I've already adjusted the power settings and turned off "Selective USB Power Saving" in the power options for USB settings. Still, I'm not sure what else might be causing it. Perhaps someone has a solution I haven't considered. I'd really appreciate any advice!
PC details:
- OS: Windows 11
- GPU: RTX 3080
- Console: Gaming X Trio
- RAM: 4 x 3600MHz (8 GB)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 38800XT (8-core)
- Power supply: 850 Watt (SilverStone SST-ST85F-GS v2.0)
Regularly exchanging USB devices may damage connectors and reduce device performance. Consider using a PCIe USB card to test if the issue continues. If not, it suggests the internal ports are worn. NOTE: This might also relate to a Windows 11 problem—several users have reported similar issues. Edited February 15, 2023 by An0maly_76 Updated with additional info
I'm sorry, I don't speak English well. All devices are disconnected. I can't use my mouse, keyboard, headphones, or external SSD for a few seconds each time it happens. I just recorded a video. While playing Hogwarts Legacy, I encountered this issue and it appears to happen roughly every five minutes. Before starting the game, I experienced this problem about five times in total using my PC over two years.
I generally keep all my games on my external SSD. However, whenever this issue arose, the game would crash. I installed it on my internal SSD instead. I’m attempting to play it now by disconnecting the drive. Thank you. I’ll update you once it works or if the problem persists.
It might be related to various RGB settings or programs. After the issue occurred, the color of your fans shifted. I added Corsair and Razer software, and the game now changes the colors on my Razer keyboard automatically. It seems this resolved the problem. Thanks for your support!
I wouldn't suggest running programs from external storage devices... you can keep your installation files there, not the game itself. It's simpler to monitor system activity when it occurs. RGB might be the issue and could lead to problems. Many solutions aren't well-designed and often rely on similar libraries, which can cause complications outside RGB. Troubleshooting usually involves observing what happens to your system in real time. The second part is figuring out what changed before things started to go wrong.
