Remove the Windows 11 fat taskbar by adjusting settings or using built-in tools to clean up startup items.
I've got three monitors, two with the standard Windows 11 taskbar and one that suddenly developed a large taskbar. I've tried everything—checking settings, updating, restarting, and plugging it in again—but it still looks bloated. Windows 11 seems to have limited your options for customizing the taskbar. You can resize it via the Registry Editor, but adjusting between sizes 0-2 doesn't work.
Launch Task Manager, terminate sihost.exe, dwm.exe, explorer.exe, then restart explorer.exe from Task Manager. Does this resolve the issue? If not, switch to a monitor with a large taskbar as the primary display and restore your previous configuration. This should trigger a refresh and fix the problem.
Review the details section. Consider changing the primary display, restarting the device, and then reverting to the original setup.
Attempted both options but had no success. I'll keep it hidden on other screens for now. Appreciate your assistance.
