Experienced with a similar problem on my new Gigabyte B550 motherboard while trying to adjust the NVMe M.2 drive hold-downs. A flathead screwdriver or Phillips didn’t fit because the indentations were too shallow for a secure grip. I resorted to using a small, adjustable pair of pliers with vise teeth, gripping the post vertically despite its grooves. By holding the plier handles firmly and rotating counter-clockwise, the posts came out of the holes. It was a bit concerning they might be soldered, but it looks like the Gigabyte team has a good assembly process. Just proceed with caution.
