I find it frustrating to even ask this, but I have a Windows 10 machine at work with two tiles (Candy Crush Saga and Farm Heroes...something). They won’t uninstall properly or are only partially removed, leaving the icons behind. How do I get rid of them? They don’t show up in any add/remove tools (Geek Uninstaller, built-in Windows tool) I’ve used.

Clicking the tile with the right mouse button will display an uninstallation choice. You'll also find a way to remove the app from the start menu. Programs installed via the Windows 10 app store won't show up in the add/remove programs section of the control panel.

An uninstall feature exists, though it has no effect. There’s also no way to remove the pin.

It looks like there may have been an error. You might want to install the apps from the store and then remove them again if needed.

The store is protected by a firewall, but we can't control it.

You might also consider using the PowerShell approach instead.

The program was removed, yet the icon or tile persists. This is the issue.

Attempted SFC scan but encountered issues. Created a new account and logged in, but the icon or program still wasn't found. Returned to the existing admin user, rebuilt index—still no changes. It seems removing shortcuts is surprisingly tough. Reason cited: "Why Windows 10 blows goats."
