I was assembling my new PC and realized the CPU cooler mount wasn’t aligning properly with the holes on the motherboard. I’d already installed two clips, but I’m curious if there’s a way to detach the cooler mounts without damaging them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you referring to a plastic ring adapter with clips? It seems to stay in place by design. Removing it involves unclipping the cooler, turning the board upside down, and using your thumbnail to gently push the bottom of the pushpin out. For an LGA1700 board, this method likely won't fit. The device appears to be LGA 115X/1200 compatible only.

I noticed the cooler's website mentioned LGA 1200 support, but Thermaltake doesn't list it. I've attached a photo of the mounting clips for clarity. When you push the clear clip in, it slides onto the other side of the MB and can be removed with some force. For a firmer fit, use the black pins to expand the clip's end. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting those pins out from the clear clips. The only solution I've seen online is cutting the clip ends with clippers, which makes me uncertain. Do you have any suggestions on how to remove them?

LGA 1200 matches LGA 115X in terms of socket and cooler mounting. Many coolers fit this configuration. I've removed the cooler, turned the board upside down, and gently pushed the pins back using a thumbnail. Those who don’t take the time aren’t being patient enough.
