Hello! I'm trying to get the TP-LN8200ND V1 wireless USB adapter to function properly with Windows 10. It tends to lose the connection every few minutes and disconnects, requiring me to repeatedly troubleshoot using the built-in help features. The V1 model doesn't work well with Windows 10 unlike the newer versions. I found the official driver page on TP-Link's site, but so far I haven't been able to resolve the issue. Some suggestions suggest checking for a Windows 8 driver in the system32 folder or deleting/replacing it, though others warn against modifying system drivers. Another user recommended removing the driver from system32 (though this seems specific to another product). I'm considering replacing the antenna if this doesn't work, but I really hope I can fix it without spending much. Thanks for your assistance!

Is this on a desktop or laptop? If it's a desktop, consider an Intel AX200 or AX210 PCIe card with an available slot, as they offer superior performance compared to USB options. Regardless of choice, opting for a newer model would be better since this adapter is outdated and will likely underperform. It only supports the slower 2.4GHz WiFi band.

Open Settings, then System, followed by About, System Protection. Tap the Hardware section, choose Device Installation Settings, pick No, save changes, and click OK. Uninstall should work without needing a full driver reinstall.

Sorry for the delayed response, but that doesn’t work. Windows 10 isn’t cooperating—it won’t accept my changes. I’m already frustrated with this operating system. It blocks me from removing its own annoying driver and now I need to switch to Realtek drivers so I can use their panel and equalizer. Unfortunately, every time I try to uninstall or reinstall, the same Microsoft driver keeps appearing. Even after going through System Protection and Device Installation settings, nothing changes. This is really frustrating.

The issue might be due to compatibility problems or outdated drivers. The adapter worked on W11, but it doesn’t function properly now.
