It's not possible to completely remove an operating system. You can either format the storage, switch to a different OS on top of it, or adjust the partition size of another OS to delete or overwrite it.

Is there another operating system available on the disk besides Linux Mint? Formatting it would erase all data, including your files and other OSes.

Do you have additional operating systems installed on a different drive, or are you preparing to install another one? If so, you should be able to start from that system and format the target drive. For instance, if you're installing Windows, right-click the disk and choose Format. Or, use Disk Management to remove any existing partitions. If you intend to install another OS, proceed directly—no prior formatting required, the installer will handle it. If you possess a Windows or Linux installation media, there should be an option to partition the disk, which typically involves deleting all current partitions.

To set up Windows, just install it directly. You don’t have to uninstall any previous system first. In the installer, you can delete all current partitions and let it create a new one on that drive. This will replace the existing operating system.
