Remove dirt and debris from the CPU contact pads to ensure proper electrical connection.
I treated my Intel CPU contact pad with isopropyl alcohol and left it for a while. Then I used a clean, soft, dry cloth to confirm the pad was fully dry. Unfortunately, the cloth I used wasn’t a microfiber or lint-free type. Before installing the CPU, I inspected the pads carefully and was confident there were no fibers left behind. After reassembly, should I be concerned about skipping microfiber? Would it be better to open the PC and clean the CPU with a microfiber cloth instead? Or is it acceptable?
