The company insisted on sending me a corporate computer for remote work, even though my setup met the criteria. I connect it to my router via Ethernet, but I have some worries about personal data security when returning the device. Could there be a chance they might access my private information?

It seems unlikely they'd embed surveillance tools on the device. My concern is whether someone from IT could access my data simply because their machine was linked to mine. Appreciate the clarification.
