Set up a 3990x system on an Asus Rog Strix TRX40-E. Just got the 2666mgz 32Gbx8 256 GB kit (F4-2666C18Q2-256GVK) from G.skill, listed in the QVL for the Mobo. It took about a month for delivery. The issue was resolved after importing and installing the RAM. Initially, I placed two 3000MHz RAM sticks on the right DIMM slots and one 2400MHz on the left slot. After testing, everything worked fine. Later, I noticed a "MEMORY:C5 ERROR" on the mini display. Even after swapping RAMs, the C5 error appeared whenever I tried to boot, regardless of settings or combinations. All RAMs functioned normally once installed, but I’m stuck with only 128GB in the right channel. Any advice would be appreciated.
Got a completely new kit F4-2666C18Q2-256GVK 32gbx8 2666mhz kit. Tried various combinations and also tried with the manual instructions of inserting rams resetting CMOS everytime. When there is any ram on the left side DIMM slots, the C5 Error pops up instantly and the system doesn't boot. not sure if the Mobo is damaged
