I find remasters of newer titles confusing. Crash remastered seemed fitting because the game is similar to my age, yet these older releases still feel fresh. What advantages do remastered versions offer over the original? I’d rather see developers focus on new projects or sequels rather than re-releasing Skyrim.
Why? The price you pay for the original game covers the development costs for the original game. The remaster itself costs money to develop; where would the logic be in them spending money to make this new version if they wouldn't get money back from it? They don't owe you a remastered version. If you want it buy it, if not don't. They're not forcing you to buy the new version after all.
The initial version of Dark Souls is quite poor, running at 30 frames per second. If you haven't purchased the original release, investing in the remaster would be worthwhile; however, if you own the first edition, it's still a good deal. Personally, I was impressed by the re-release of Skyrim—playing it across different platforms and even on VR has been rewarding. I really enjoy the game because it never loses its appeal for me.
You definitely don’t need to purchase it, why would you even bring it up? When did I ever suggest we had to buy it? That sounded completely unreasonable. Why? Just because it’s a nice thing to do doesn’t mean everyone agrees. I think more people will see my point than you do—want to buy the same game twice? You could customize the original version to improve performance and run at 60fps. Instead of spending money, I’d rather update textures that modders have already done, since it’s already official. If you’re going to waste your money, go ahead, but I won’t back greedy developers. Not everyone owns the original game, so they won’t lose money if it’s free for existing owners. You seem to be misunderstanding the situation.
It seems we need more details about the remaster's quality and features before we can truly assess its value. If it mainly offers small technical improvements—like faster performance or bug fixes—then it might not justify the cost for those who already own the original version. However, if it brings significant changes such as better graphics, new content, or substantial enhancements, then charging for it makes sense given the effort and resources invested by the developers.
It hinges on the updates or additions being made. For example, dedicated servers are now available, which would be appealing for any player, plus supporting up to six participants in a world instead of five. Most folks would definitely add this to their must-have list if they complete the changes properly. We'll see how it unfolds.
