I restored Windows 11 to the same storage device, thinking I’d erased everything. Yet some icons from my earlier setup stayed behind. Since I configured it as a new machine, I’m puzzled about why those files persisted. Could you clarify?

I reinstalled the software by following the on-screen instructions provided during the initial setup.

Are there icons connected to your motherboard or peripherals like a USB device? Some PC components attempt to install their own software, but it's not always automatic.

I ran the Windows installation media on a USB drive, removed the partitions from your storage device until it became unallocated, and then installed Windows onto that drive. Afterward, I configured the setup as a fresh PC.

There were two icons representing RE4 chainsaw and 3DMark demos. I removed them since they weren't installed.

There were two empty icons for 3dMark demo and Re4 Chainsaw demo. Both shortcuts were marked but lacked icons and didn’t function, so I removed them.

Do you possess additional storage options? Was this USB boot drive just generated recently?

I turned off the other devices and changed the USB settings. Only the m.2 drive with empty space remained, along with the USB. It’s strange.
