Hey guys, after a while of trying to fix my potato laptop I just need 1 last thing. So I've gotten nvidia drivers to work with my computer on zorin os lite. But... you need to open the computer, then wait for a few seconds, put it to sleep, then wake it up, to make the display work. Yeah... I dont even know what to do, if you guys can maybe say some fixes I'll be so so greatful.

This could be a power issue. Look into your NVIDIA control panel settings (if available on Linux) for power or sleep configurations. Also, what are your laptop specifications? Would you try using integrated graphics instead?

Yeah there's a control panel equivalent. My specs for the laptop is an i5-2410m with a geforce 410m and 8gb ddr3 ram, it runs well but yeah the start up process is just awful.

I mentioned looking into power and sleep settings. Are Intel drivers already set up (they should be built-in, though you can install externally)? You might encounter an issue when changing the display output from your graphics card to integrated graphics.

Also, if you're setting up Linux due to limited hardware, you can still run a streamlined version of Windows. 8 GB of RAM works fine, and I’m not sure if you have an SSD or HDD—though with an SSD there’s no need to skip optimization.

You've just put in a fresh SSD and are ready to start with a fresh Linux setup.

I dislike seeing folks wait for the newest reply before I send two at once. Check my second-to-last message!

Ive uninstalled intel drivers already and I still have the same problem, are there anymore fixes regarding the power and sleep? Also here's a video of me opening the laptop.https://streamable.com/bd02hg

The fix involves installing the necessary packages. Use sudo apt-get install nvidia-prime and then prime-select nvidia.
