Remaining disconnected from Blizzard and Overwatch 2
Remaining disconnected from Blizzard and Overwatch 2
I recall hearing about the Blizzard incident a year or two ago, which brought up many internal claims of harassment. I was on the road, listening to WAN discuss it, my mouth frozen in shock. Even if not all the accusations proved true and none have caused serious harm now, I still feel Blizzard is a problem and I’m considering boycotting their titles. Back in 2018 I played Overwatch and had a good time with friends from college, but I now know the original version is gone while Overwatch 2 is free-to-play, though it feels similar yet worse? I’m interested in seeing how far Overwatch 2 has slipped. I’d like to witness its decline firsthand. However, I’m not in favor of pushing Overwatch 2’s popularity or sales just for my curiosity. I’m curious about the impact of joining online, but honestly, if many people tell me the game is terrible enough, I’ll stop caring. I’ve heard negative feedback from people close to me, but I want The Tech Tips’ perspective :^).
Just ignore it. It's almost the same as before, overall they haven't turned it into a competitive title. All my friends who played OW a lot a few years back tried it for a week then stopped playing altogether. The developers are terrible, don't give them credit for poor games.
SC2 offers improved visuals compared to SC1, though Blizzard tends to reuse mechanics rather than innovate. They seem to balance story and gameplay well, similar to OW2. Personally, I’m not interested in cosmetic upgrades and find the Battle Pass less exciting without a larger character selection. I’d accept a paywall only if it offered more choices, otherwise I’d prefer a system more like in LoL. Overall, player experience remains a key challenge across these titles.
