Do freshly released processors/motherboards typically have reliability/compatibility issues on release? I'm considering waiting for the next-gen of intel processors for my workstation and am wondering if this is a significant factor to consider. Seeing as how it's just a refresh of the current gen I would assume they would be fine. The same goes for motherboards like the newly released Aorus series from Gigabyte.

When updates arrive for DDR, it usually requires around six to twelve months before full compatibility is achieved. In some cases, the process can be slower. Recent instances include Intel's 1700 socket modifications and AMD's X3D+EXPO overvolting efforts.
