Hello! Upgrading to an SSD this weekend is exciting. I’m trying to reinstall the OS from my HDD, but I’m confused about the process. My OS is OEM and it only supports installation on one motherboard, without mentioning any drives. Should I still follow the usual steps using the same software key? Also, since I’ll be formatting the HDD and not saving any data, should I worry about anything? Thanks for your help—please don’t mind if I seem a bit simple!

I restored the original software and had to rely on Microsoft’s automatic phone setup, which required dialing a code and entering details for several minutes. It functioned well enough, and I was able to activate it.
