It doesn't require removing the authorization; it's linked to your Steam account. Just reinstall Steam, log in, and you can download and play the game again.

Did you adhere to this manual? http://answers.ea.com/t5/Need-for-Speed-...-p/1028018 EDIT: wait the steam version? can you not just install it on the new pc? Steam doesn't impose a cap on how many devices it supports, and Hot Pursuit permits up to 5 machines before reaching that threshold.

EA likely implemented automatic game removal on Uninstall several years back. With Steam, you won’t have to worry about this anymore.
