I've faced this problem for roughly a week now. My system runs an Intel Core i7-11800H with an RTX 3060 graphics card, 16 GB RAM, and Windows 10. Every time I power off and turn it back on, the games lag at around 10 frames per second. After uninstalling and reinstalling drivers through Device Manager, they function perfectly. I've tried several fixes: updating drivers, changing BIOS settings, resetting BIOS to defaults, cleaning up Windows from Win 11 to Win 10, disabling Intel graphics in Device Manager, adjusting performance options, and tweaking NVIDIA and AcerNitro settings. Sometimes games run smoothly after a driver reset (up to 250 FPS), other times they drop to just 30 FPS or lower, especially in titles like Dota 2. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You're likely referring to adjusting GPU preferences within Windows. This setting was previously available in NVIDIA's interface but has since been moved to the operating system level. It may not be present on standard laptops, though it could be an advanced feature. Disabling the integrated graphics (iGPU) in the BIOS might also provide some improvement.

Thank you for your feedback. I’ll review both choices carefully. I’ve already enabled high-performance settings worldwide in the Nvidia Control Panel, ensuring the dedicated GPU is always selected or preferred.

Microsoft assumed management of that feature in Windows, meaning you need to locate the adjustment within the operating system itself. Your previous device handled it similarly, but I’ve disabled the integrated graphics now, so that option is no longer available.

Consider turning off the integrated graphics in your BIOS settings rather than just using the device manager, and observe any differences.

Attempted a workaround but found no similar settings in BIOS or display controls. Disabling all startup programs didn’t help. It seems there might be a problem with the GPU clock boost feature. To resolve, check manufacturer guidelines for GPU-specific fixes or contact support for further assistance.

This indicates your dGPU clock runs slower than the iGPU, which is typical. Reinstalling drivers usually helps narrow the gap. After the update, the clock improved, but it seems to reset to 210 MHz upon reboot—could be a system reset or driver reinitialization issue.

A basic CMOS reset resolved the issue (kept the power button on for 40 seconds). I rebooted several times without needing to reinstall drivers. Hopefully this will stay that way. If someone can clarify why it worked, it would be great!

I'm facing the same issue with my Acer Nitro 5 i511400H RTX3050 too. It seems to be working for me at the moment. Appreciate the suggestions!
