Sure thing! Here’s a rephrased version of your notes:

You’ve got the Skyrim script extender installed in the same folder as the game itself. You’re curious if you need to run Skyrim with the extender or if it has its own plugin. Also, you’re asking about the extent of modding options—how much content can you customize? You’re using the R9 390 with Sapphire Turbo and are currently running Ultra details and shadows on medium settings. Performance seems to be affected in other games, so you’re trying to keep things close to the original experience while enhancing visuals and textures. You want to maintain a lot of mod types: quests, content, frostfall, etc. Thanks again—feel free to ask if anything is unclear!

You're definitely upgrading your setup for a smoother experience. Are you managing those mods with Nexus Mod Manager?

Run Skyrim using the executable that comes with skse. This isn't a plugin, so it can't be achieved through a plugin. What you can do is uncertain for others. Just keep trying until you reach a point where it's no longer possible. It depends heavily on the mods you're using. I'm currently at over 300 mods and haven't run into issues, but downloading that many could change things depending on the specific mods involved.

Sure, I might switch the mod manager eventually, but for now I’ll keep it as is because I’ve never used a mod before.

You usually start with skse and can tweak almost anything—some changes won’t play well together. There’s no exact guide on compatibility, so experiment freely. Focus first on mods that boost the game’s appearance. Begin with 2k HD texture packs, then add SMIMM for a significant visual upgrade. They enhance detail without severely affecting performance. Modding in Skyrim is all about trial and error. Try different options, check for crashes, and adjust until you find what works best. These are essentials if you want a richer, more immersive experience.

The Bethesda HD textures pack is generally considered a solid choice for enhancing your gameplay experience, offering improved visuals and performance. Whether it's worth downloading depends on your needs and expectations.

You're familiar with adjusting the 'ultra' preset in your INI files—turning off antialiasing and anisotropic filtering is standard since ENB handles those. NEVER use the regular launcher for Skyrim; it resets your INI settings. Always use the SKSE shortcut instead. For a more authentic look, consider the HD 2k texture pack for Skyrim, even if it doesn't match the original visuals perfectly. The main impact on the game comes from the ENB settings. If you're aiming to preserve Skyrim's original feel, go with Project ENB Phinix Natural or RealVision. For a better weather and lighting experience, try Natural Lighting and Atmospherics 2.0 by Confidence-Man. It's currently regarded as the top ENB for Skyrim.

np, I really like nexus, it's simple and direct, and the community there is super supportive. Enjoy customizing. And remember to check out the bonus quests!
