I explored the article and considered the community's perspective. My view: this is excellent! It allows development to concentrate on hardware, which is what most Linux users rely on.

It's more about tracking data and simple hardware details than actual data gathering. That's perfectly okay for me. What concerns me is the kind of information collected by Windows 10, which makes me question why I'm no longer using it as my main operating system.

This method of gathering information isn't the most intrusive available, but I believe it should require permission rather than being automatically accepted.

In reality, the situation isn't as severe as initially expected. The opt-out applies only to new users installing this for the first time (you can disable it during setup). For those upgrading, it requires permission. If you notice an issue with a checkbox that's set by default, we're facing more significant challenges.
