Played the initial version 20 years prior. Was amazed by the narrative and mechanics, especially the physics—really innovative for its era.
I played Mafia 1 around 20 years ago, but I can't recall any motorcycle chase or prison escape scenes. Were those added later or in the remake? In the original version, there was a notorious racing segment that really challenged me back then. I often had to rely on glitches or shortcuts to overcome it. Overall, I enjoyed the game. For its era, the world felt remarkably vibrant; the city and atmosphere were unmatched. There were no cluttered minigames like those in later open-world titles. The story was somewhat predictable, but I didn’t mind at the time. I haven’t played the other two games, but I’m considering getting them now.
Maybe? It might be that my description isn't quite right. These were just minor parts in the bigger chapters, which could be contributing to that. The motorcycle chase happened on the mission where you're attempting to eliminate the other family's hitman—you set off a car bomb, and once he's escaping from the diner, you switch to a motorcycle to pursue him. The mission is titled "You Lucky Bastard." Regarding the prison break, you had to take out a politician and then exit the abandoned facility. The mission name listed is "Election Campaign." According to the wiki, they appear to be from the original game, though I might be mistaken. Yeah, I remember disliking that mission—it took me a long time to figure out how to bypass it (I think I just lowered the difficulty). That one definitely needed a fix.
