What do you think about the FF7 remake thus far? We haven't had much time, but we've gathered enough to excite and disappoint in equal measure. As a classic title, it deserves a flawless recreation or else dedicated fans will move on. I find it visually appealing, though I'm concerned about the release format—especially if it's divided into chapters. I'd prefer a fresh version rather than just updated graphics.

I believe it's still in development and any feedback beyond its visual appeal isn't useful. Also, you're asking for the original battle mechanics—get the old game from Steam, it should run on modern systems. Turn-based RPG combat systems are outdated, but they were essential back then.

The video's refresh rate raised my worries, and I’d love to see it drop once and for all. You mentioned the combat mechanics might disappoint some fans of the original, but I’m hoping they’re at least fair.

It hasn't been released yet. Good thing you were here to let me know. I was just checking the PSN for it, looking for a strong visual presentation. While some value graphics more than others, a good look is definitely noticeable. I like playing well rather than just seeing pretty images, but saying the game looks okay isn't bad. You're suggesting people wait until the official release to form a real opinion, which makes sense but developers aim to impress so potential buyers feel motivated. What do you think about some constructive feedback on what fans are saying about it so far?

Agreed – the frame rate was a bit worrying, especially at the start. From a technical standpoint, the game was divided into three chapters (CDs), but I’d prefer they don’t dictate the timing of what I play next... There’ll be players who complete each chapter quickly, in days.

Chapters released in stages can be a good approach. I often dislike rushing a game to completion. It's similar to the way a Telltale series releases content, which is fine.

It's not always a bad move, really. It depends on how long the gaps between chapters are. Final Fantasy 7 never came in chapters, and it worked fine... No pressure to set limits. I wish they wouldn’t charge extra for each chapter, just like with Walking Dead on PC.
