I purchased the 9700x for my initial PC build. I paid £242 on Amazon Prime, but delivery is expected only by October 15th, giving me time to reassess. After reconsidering, I might opt for the 9800x3d instead of the 9700x, mainly because the price gap isn’t huge and I want to ensure reliability for my machine. The main concern was hearing complaints about issues on the 9900x3d, so I looked into that and found many users with similar problems, mostly related to X3D CPUs. Now I’m weighing other factors like drivers, BIOS settings, and mouse configurations. It’s been a bit stressful, so I’m choosing the more affordable option to minimize risk and stress. I’ve ordered it now and have a week to decide.

yeah go 7800x3d, 9800x3d unless its within 50 of the 7800x3d is usually not worth it and the 9700x is usually terrible value relative to the 7800x3d and 7500f as you probably wont see a notable gain over the 7500f in triple A non cpu intensive stuff and it wont even come close to the 7800x3d for the really cache dependant/cpu heavy games say msfs factorio etc.

Thank you for your response. The 9700x equates to £242,9800x3d which is £400, while the 7800x3d amounts to £330.
