Referring to 3900x and 3950x
It seems 4.7 is a milestone only reached with ln2 and similar speeds at 3900x. I’m not entirely sure, but I’ve seen some achieve that using air cooling and more advanced AI components. It might depend on core quality and chip selection. From the Ryzen lineup since its debut to the Ryzen 4000, performance tends to be more sensitive to temperature and load. Depending on memory type, PSU quality, and board specs, chips can hit higher frequencies but also face risks like burnout from BIOS issues. A solid build usually stays stable around base and boost levels—around 3.6 to 4.2, though it varies by chip capabilities. My take is that FX could have performed better if AMD had resolved the platform challenges like they did with Ryzen.
I haven't seen the 3950X hit 4.7 boost before, yet the units at the office do. It seems related to the C7H in general.
