I’ve examined numerous forum discussions without discovering a targeted resolution for this issue.

My system details are as follows:

* FX 8300 processor
* MSI Gaming 720 motherboard
* MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X graphics card
* Seasonic 1000W Gold power supply

I’m experiencing minimal GPU utilization, low CPU usage, and reduced frame rates while playing games like World of Warcraft, with frame rates averaging 30-50fps in the world and dropping to 5-20fps during raids. I'm attempting to identify the root cause.

My troubleshooting efforts included a fresh Windows installation, BIOS updates, adjustments to Windows power settings, NVIDIA control panel configurations, and modifying the motherboard’s slow mode feature; however, none of these actions resolved the problem.

Here are screenshots illustrating my system's performance:

Experiment with DirectX options via in-game settings, such as switching between DX12 and DX11. Afterward, assess your performance to see if there’s an improvement.

I appreciate your prompt response. I found that there were three distinct DirectX versions—dx12, dx11, and dx11 legacy. The dx11 legacy version caused my GPU utilization to reach approximately 40-42%, while simultaneously reducing my in-game frame rate. This issue doesn’t occur in World of Warcraft; I also experience it in Path of Exile and other games, though I’m not concerned about it outside of WoW.

Regarding whether you’re seeing improved FPS, don’t mind the GPU utilization. It’s generally expected to be lower in World of Warcraft due to the game’s relative lack of graphical intensity.

No, I’m not concerned with GPU utilization as I initially stated; my GPU usage averaged around 35% while my frame rate remained approximately 30. However, when I altered the DX setting, my usage increased to about 40%, but the FPS dropped to 22-23 – which didn't resolve my issue.

Tell me about your RAM and the configurations you’re employing within World of Warcraft. Please note that you should not be utilizing DirectX 11's older version. Also, have you verified in the NVIDIA settings panel whether your graphics card is designated?

My game configurations are excessively elevated, resulting in minimal graphics card utilization—that’s the core issue.

I saw a discussion on an online community where a user resolved an issue by replacing his motherboard. Do AM3 motherboards frequently experience this type of problem, or is it simply a matter of chance?

It’s uncertain if the issue stems from the motherboard.

I experienced a comparable difficulty while gaming World of Warcraft, and resolving it involved updating DirectX to version 11—as I recall accurately.

Are you utilizing your graphics card in the primary expansion slot on your computer's board?
