I set up two Dell Inspirons and one TPLink WR841N. I need to share the display of one laptop using the second one’s screen, but neither has an Ethernet port. The only choice is wireless. On the first laptop I use Ctrl+K to cast, Ctrl + P to extend; on the second I rely on Windows Connect App. They work well together. However, I encounter very high latency when moving windows across the screen. The display distorts significantly. Turning off Bluetooth helps a little. I’m looking for a peer-to-peer solution that works smoothly without relying on a network. AdHoc networks could work, but WEP security is too weak. I need low latency and better security than my router provides.

You can only choose Game Mode for casting. In the final stage, you're stuck with the outdated Miracast standard—Intel WiDi has been updated rarely, and it's still not the latest version. It's just a bit improved.
