I've observed Borderlands 2 stays within the VRAM limits. Certain sections involve heavy PhysX effects and open spaces like Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon, which cause the frame rate to drop. I believe better VRAM management would prevent these problems. Testing with a Titan X and a 4790K running on 16 GB RAM could help. Adjusting the game's .ini settings to boost VRAM usage might improve performance. I'll try it at 2560x1440p DSR on a 1080p display and plan an upgrade to the Acer 2560x1440p G-Sync monitor later. Thanks.

It's disappointing about the Physx. I usually get a solid frame dip under 40 even when setting it to medium on my 980.

That's just the usual Borderlands experience. Running it at 4K would likely use less than 3GB of VRAM, unless you notice FPS drops because of insufficient memory usage. Don't worry about it.
