I've looked through the internet for clear benefits of restricting FPS. It can reduce frame drops and may ease stress on certain hardware components.

It lessens the strain on your CPU and GPU, cutting energy consumption and heat while boosting battery endurance in portable devices.

I was trying to find a similar program since my laptop was getting too hot in BF: Hardline, which made the game lag and stop playing.

Beyond the benefits mentioned earlier, consider restricting your frame rate to prevent it from surpassing your monitor’s maximum refresh rate. This might cause noticeable screen tearing if your setup isn’t using Gsync or Freesync. @xDanielxOossiex Are you avoiding VSync specifically? That would limit your frame rate to match your display’s refresh capability. Or would you prefer a lower target, such as 30 frames per second?

It really makes a difference. The card heats up less, you consume less power, and screen tearing decreases. I recommend trying it for many users who don’t have 144hz displays. Good news—my monitor actually drops to 75hz. 60 is right at the boundary, but 75 offers a slight advantage. I set it around 70.

Activated Vsync in BF:H yet FPS remains above 60fps. Vsync functions but not in any of the BF titles. If CPU temperature exceeds 96°C, it triggers throttling, leading to stuttering in BF:H.

96°...you need to push your cooling system harder. That’s an extremely high temperature. My CPU stays at its maximum of 50°C even when under stress, and I’m using a relatively modest cooler.

He mentioned a friend who noticed they lowered the frame rate cap in Skyrim. He saw a horse move far and freely, which suggests it helps prevent crashes.
