I have restricted the 7600X to a maximum of 70 degrees Celsius. I lowered the CPU voltage by 30. The goal is my CPU cooler, which can cool effectively but becomes very noisy at full speed. My main question is whether this will harm the CPU. I’ve set the cooler to operate around 49% until reaching 72°C. Under normal conditions, temperatures should stay between 90-95°C during heavy use. Since I’m not comfortable adjusting BIOS settings myself, I’d like advice from someone more experienced before proceeding. I ran a Cinebench R24 10-minute multicore test and the system stayed stable; I’m fine with reduced performance in this scenario. Power consumption will rise noticeably, but modern chips handle it well. Running at 1.4V is usually safe for most builds, especially if you’re not pushing beyond normal loads. Overclocking below 1.3V can help, but only if you’re confident in the stability.
