Details: MSI ventus RTX 3080 LHR OC 10GB Ryzen 7 3700x Asus pro x570-pro Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3600 Corsair 850W gold power supply. Gaming performance isn't reaching expected highs; FPS stays around 30% in some titles and up to 80% in others. CPU load is nowhere near maximum. Most games run at about 40% CPU usage. Upgraded power supply because I thought that was the problem. Updated all BIOS and drivers. Still unsure what else might be causing the issue. Temperatures stay near 80°C. I achieve 90 FPS in 1080p max in PUBG, 120-150 FPS in Fortnite max settings, and 140 FPS in COD.

RTX 3080 works best at 1080p, improves to 1440p and even 4K. Consider using the DSR feature on NVIDIA cards to render games at higher resolutions and check if performance increases. Many people have shared similar experiences.

Still trying to boost performance, especially aiming for 90 FPS at 1080p in PUBG. A $700 GPU shouldn’t drop below that, but it feels like power management is the issue. I didn’t mention that the power usage tops out at 320W, and MSI’s afterburner keeps it at 90% capacity. Voltage limits also pop up often.

Another result shows similar performance improvements up to 1080 and 2080.

Basic setup, your GPU is limited by the GPU itself. On a 3080, 3070 and higher models, bottlenecks appear unless you avoid heavy ray tracing. Consider switching to DSR or DLDSR settings at 2x to 4x the default for possible fixes if the issue is just a bottleneck.

PUBG is a game I've played for five years, logging over 6000 hours. It's not the best experience, especially with its optimization. The game feels too basic when you try to use all the details. A 3080 processor should work well around 320W, not much more. Not every MSI model is overclocked, so the power limit seems reasonable. Reaching the voltage cap isn't too risky, and the afterburner shows only about 1W at full power.

GPU operates normally, though it runs a bit hotter than usual. The stock 3080 can draw up to 320W, and at 1080p it’s mainly CPU-intensive with a 3700x ratio, keeping GPU usage moderate. Lowering the resolution to 1440p should make it run at full capacity.

Performance remains inconsistent at 1440p. CPU usage stays around 30%. Frame rates fluctuate between 90 and 120 depending on the game.
