Setting a fixed framerate behaves similarly to VSync. I think Nvidia lets you choose whether to use VSync or switch to VSync when the frame rate exceeds your monitor's refresh limit (the same applies for AMD and Freesync). For me, Bioshock Infinite was the most tearing game I've ever experienced (especially on my old 60Hz display). EDIT: Turn on VSync in the game. It will continue using GSync but change to VSync when the frame rate gets too high. The same applies for Freesync users on AMD.

You're right to question this! Enabling V-sync and G-sync are related but distinct features. While they both aim to improve smoothness, enabling V-sync doesn't automatically disable G-sync. They can work together for better performance, but you need to understand their individual settings.

If you activate vsync in the game, G-SYNC remains functional, though if your FPS exceeds 144, it will block the app until the display is ready.

Using Nvidia Inspector allows you to define specific FPS limits for each game individually. It shouldn't interfere with Gsync functionality.
