Reduce audio during a Skype call
Reduce audio during a Skype call
Mobo - Gigabyte X79-UD3 Windows 7 now I've clearly done 1. Launch the Run Command 2. Type mmsys.cpl in the search bar 3. Choose the Communications tab 4. Pick Do Nothing 5. Save, but it still lowers other sound sources when someone is talking. I installed fresh Windows 7 about 6 hours ago and had this problem before—I managed to fix it, though I can't recall exactly how. Was around 2 years ago. If you left something out or found a solution, let me know <3
I turned off the automatic sound adjustment feature if that's what you intended.
1) Select the volume/speaker icon in the taskbar
2) Choose Sound
3) Navigate to the Communications tab
4) Adjust communications activity to "Do nothing"
Sound settings menu > Any output method > Properties > Advance > Turn off "Let apps take full control of this device"
Checking the Skype settings for automatic adjustment, I turned off both options.
I managed to locate the solution, though it was cleverly hidden. The fix was mentioned on line 1 of the virtual audio cable, which is the primary connection I use. When that didn’t function, I replicated the same steps on my standard audio device and discovered a "Dolby" tab. There were four options enabled by default, so I turned them all off. Suddenly everything worked perfectly. Thanks for the guidance—it could really assist others too.
